5 steps. 20 minutes. Done forever.

01
Setup
Create your free Make account
+

Make (formerly Integromat) is the automation platform that connects all the tools together. The free plan is more than enough for this.

  • Go to my Make affiliate link and sign up for a free account
  • Verify your email and log in to your dashboard
  • Click "Create a new scenario" from the home screen
Free plan note: Make's free tier gives you 1,000 operations/month. This automation uses about 30/month โ€” you'll never come close to the limit.
02
Connect
Link your Google Calendar
+

Add the first module in your Make scenario to pull today's events from your calendar.

  • In your scenario, click "+" and search for "Google Calendar"
  • Select "Search Events"
  • Click "Add" to connect your Google account and grant calendar access
  • Set the calendar to your main personal or work calendar
  • Set date range: start = today, end = today + 1 day
Date formula tip: Use Make's built-in variables โ€” set start to {{now}} and end to {{addDays(now; 1)}}
03
AI layer
Add Claude to write your briefing
+

This is the magic step. Claude reads your raw calendar data and turns it into a clean, friendly morning summary โ€” in your tone, every time.

  • Add a new module โ€” search for "Claude AI" or "HTTP"
  • Connect to the Claude API (free tier available at claude.ai)
  • In the prompt field, paste the template below
  • Map the calendar events output from Step 2 into the {{events}} variable
Prompt template โ€” copy and paste this: Here are my calendar events for today: {{events}}. Write me a short, friendly morning briefing in plain text. Include: - Total number of meetings - The first event and what time it starts - Any gaps I can use for focused work - One motivating sentence to start the day Keep it under 160 words. No bullet points. Write it like a helpful friend texting me, not a robot.
04
Deliver
Send it to your phone via SMS
+

Connect a messaging module to deliver the AI summary straight to your phone as a text.

  • Add a new module โ€” search for "Twilio" (easiest for SMS)
  • Sign up for a free Twilio account โ€” the free trial includes a phone number
  • Set "To" as your personal mobile number
  • Set "Message" to the Claude output from Step 3
No Twilio? Use a Gmail module instead โ€” email yourself at your carrier's SMS gateway address. Examples: yournumber@txt.att.net (AT&T), yournumber@vtext.com (Verizon), yournumber@tmomail.net (T-Mobile)

Schedule

The final step โ€” set a schedule so the whole thing runs itself, every morning, without you touching anything.

  • Set scheduling to "Every day"
  • Set the time to 30โ€“60 min before your workday (e.g. 7:30am)
